Sulphuric acid fumes leak from batteries affects 4 persons

The sulphuric acid fumes leak from batteries causes four persons at discomfort. 

Power supply was disconnected, and batteries were cooled with fans, as water can't be applied due to stored electricity and water on sulphuric acid will heat up further and aggravate the problem. Persons affected with toxic fumes were treated by attending personnel.

Toilet cleaning with acid - fumes affect students

In an incident reported, fumes from toilet cleaning with acid in a religious place affected students in the adjacent school causing hospitalization. Some students vomited while the teacher became unconscious.

Status on the persons cleaning the toilet is not known. 

It's my personal experience wherein acidic fumes during toilet cleaning cause severe lung congestion, respiratory problems, etc and we stopped using acid and instead we are using toilet cleaners that are mild and also have perfume smell. 

Further, frequent cleaning does not require application of more acid.

Spread of acid fumes from broken bottles to three villages

A news item in Hindu news paper today is about leakage and impact of acid fumes on residents of three villages. The leakage and spread of fumes from possible broken bottles containing bromine (HBr?) caused health complications such as irritation in the eyes, trachea and stomach, coughing, nausea, skin allergy. Another report says about the quantity stored as 40 bottles of each 750 ml. And as per another report, it is stored in 2 and 5 lit bottles and liquid bromine from one broken bottle reacted with husk in the area. I am unable to guess what quantity of the chemical leaked that caused spread of thick fumes to three villages affecting the people.
