We are nothing after our death. Let us donate our body organs for the poor.

Be not afraid of anything. You will do marvelous work The moment you fear, you are nobody - Swamy Vivekananda

If you think safety is expensive, try an accident... - O.P.Kharbanda

Preventable accidents, if they are not prevented due to our negligence, it is nothing short of a murder - Dr. Sarvepalli Radha Krishna, 2nd President of India

Zero accidents through zero unsafe behaviors. Do not be complacent that there are no accidents. There may be near miss accidents (NMAs). With luck/chance, somebody escaped knowingly or unknown to the person. But, we can't be safe, if we depend upon the luck.

Safety culture is how the organization behaves when no one is watching.

We make No compromise with respect to Morality, Ethics, or Safety. If a design or work practice is perceived to be unsafe, we do not proceed until the issue is resolved. - Mission statement by S&B Engineers & Consultants Ltd. http://www.sbec.com/safety/

About Leadership - excerpts from the book by Robin Sharma

Excerpts from, “The Leader Who had NO TITLE” by Robin Sharma, which I liked the most. I read this book sometime back and made the notes which I reproduced below. After reading, I felt that by following the tips, we can improve our personal life and have peace of mind with satisfaction. This is true for improving safety also at work place which will give satisfaction of saving lives, avoiding property damage and protecting the environment.

  1. Learning is the daughter of repetition. Repetition is a powerful teaching tactic. Through repetition, a new idea can quickly become integrated as a new belief.
  2. Success is easy for anyone, if they do right things consistently. And these little things and behavior buildup over time lead to reaching the impossible, which appeared in the beginning. Seeds do not give fruits overnight. They have to be planted, watered, weeded and fertilized before we get fruits.
  3. Small insignificant daily acts of excellence buildup success. Neglect of small daily acts over a period of time lead to no point of return and failure.
  4. Success is achieved only when we practice and experience. Listening or speaking alone will not help. When we practice the idea that we listened, it becomes a truth and we experience it. Unless the idea gets into us and we practice, listening/reading fails to crate lasting results.
  5. There is nothing impossible in this world. Only it is a matter of time, after we put our sincere efforts.
  6. Success that is not visible at this moment does not mean that it is impossible.
  7. Real breakthrough happens when we work with emotion, energy and passion.
  8. Once can utter a million reasons to be discouraged, dissatisfied and disengaged with his/her job. It all depends on the way we view our role, power we have to make positive decision, in whatever circumstances we are.
  9. Decide to give nothing less than the very best at the job. That commitment alone works wonders for you and makes you a happy person. Love the work and you will feel energetic and good.
  10. Good work brings luck, not the other way around.
  11. Life’s simplest pleasures are life’s most precious ones. Giving the best always at work leads to improvement in life. Luck breaks are nothing more than unexpected rewards for intelligent choices we have chosen to make. Success does not just happen because someone’s stars lineup. Success, both in business and personal, is something that’s consciously created. It is the guaranteed result of a deliberate series of acts that anyone can perform. Don’t wait for stars lineup. Success is crated through a conscious choice.
  12. Don’t bother about what others’ think of you/your work. You know the value of your work to the organization and your love for the work.
  13. Do the work as humanely as you can. Failures are stepping stones to success. Every wrong step brings you closer to the perfect step. Learn from criticism.
  14. A person has two dogs. One takes the path to destination, while the other tries to go off the track. Which one wins? The one fed the most. So, it’s all in our hands which way to go. You get what you want. It’s all depends on your mindset and desire.
  15. Mountain is difficult to climb. If you keep thinking about steepness, obstacles, you will be at the bottom only. But, if you put efforts and hardship, one day or the other, you will reach the top. While those who reach the top will become motivators, others at the bottom will be discouraging others to start.
  16. You can say whatever you want so long as you say it with respect.
  17. Just start off with the baby steps that will soon grow into habits.
  18. Small daily improvements, over time, lead to stunning results. Change is always hardest at the beginning. But the good news is that it will only get easier and one will feel better.
  19. Nobody will make a great leader who wants to do it all by himself or want to get all the credit for doing it – Andrew Carnegie
  20. Assert following lines and follow it to be a great leader
    1. I need no title to be a leader
    2. Tough times make great leaders
    3. The deeper are relationships, the stronger is the leadership
    4. To be a great leader, first become a great person
 Wish you all the best.
