Tests - themselves shouldn't be dangerous

Law of the land prescribes periodical testing of pressure systems,  material handling equipment,  etc in industries to know their functionality as per design or not. However,  the tests if not done systematically as per OEM or approved procedures can create hazards.

It is necessary to review the test procedures thoroughly by competent persons before execution. 

There are several incidents during improper testing leading to injuries,  fatalities,  property damage. 

No need to rush or push bypassing requirements. No need to bend procedures or ignoring the mandatory reviews and verifications for the sake of meeting timelines. If planned properly, there is no question of delays or nonavailability of systems for regular operations.

Similarly, postponing the tests also doesn't help.

There can be occasions where equipment are not released by operation manager and instead continue production. Such acts will be shortsightedness with ignorance to longterm benefits of periodical testing and maintenance. Problems can be found in regular testing and action can be taken. Delayed, we will be blind and can have serious consequences often leading to breakdowns or accidents.
